Author Guidelines
Author Guidelines
International Journal of Law and Social Science (IJLSS)
The International Journal of Law and Social Science (IJLSS) publishes high-quality manuscripts resulting from rigorous research, scholarly analysis, and contemporary legal and socio-legal studies. Authors are strongly encouraged to use the official IJLSS template directly and remove sections that are not relevant.
IJLSS accepts manuscripts written in English and Arabic. Articles must demonstrate clarity, originality, and academic contribution to the fields of law, Islamic studies, public policy, governance, and social sciences.
1. Article Title

Title must use Capital Letters at the Beginning of Each Word (except conjunctions).
-
Bold, centered, Calisto MT, font size 20 pt.
-
Must not exceed 15 words.
2. Authors and Affiliations
-
Write the author’s name without academic degrees.
-
List authors as: First Authora, Second Authorb, etc.
-
A maximum of 8 authors is allowed.
-
Comparative legal articles must include collaboration between at least two countries relevant to the comparison.
-
Affiliations should follow the superscript a, b, c format.
-
Add ORCID links for all authors.
-
A corresponding author must be designated with an email using an institutional domain (e.g., editor@ijlss.net).
3. Abstract

Written in EB Garamond, 14 pt, maximum 250 words.
-
Must be clear, direct, and free of citations.
-
The abstract must include:

Main problem(s)

Method

Key findings

Conclusion

The abstract must properly reflect the entire manuscript.
4. Keywords
Provide 3–5 keywords, separated by commas.
5. Introduction

Written in EB Garamond, 14 pt.
-
Must review at least five recent and relevant scholarly works.

Show the:

Research urgency and significance
-
Gap and limitations of previous studies
-
Novelty or scientific contribution
-
Clear research objectives
-
-
Language must be simple, clear, and accessible to an international audience.
-
Footnotes follow APA Manual of Style (Fullnote) and must be generated using Mendeley.
-
Authors must use at least 30 recent references (mostly within the last five years).
-
Footnotes should also contain authors’ arguments, short commentary, and analysis—not only citations.
-
Minimum manuscript length:5,000 words, including footnotes (excluding abstract and references).
6. Method
The Method section should be descriptive and written in EB Garamond, 14 pt. It must clearly explain:

Research location (if applicable)
For Review Articles:

Scope of analysis

Theoretical framework

Legal materials and doctrines used

Study limitations
This section must allow readers to understand how the study was conducted or how the analysis was developed.
7. Results and Discussion
This section is the core of the article and must:

Present findings clearly and logically
-
Compare new findings with previous studies
-
Highlight contributions, originality, and differences
-
Use EB Garamond, 14 pt
-
Include tables and figures (300 DPI resolution, centered)
Table Format Example (Open Table Style):
Subheadings such as A. First Sub-Title and B. Second Sub-Title may be used.
8. Conclusion
The Conclusion must:

Directly answer the research objectives
-
Summarize essential findings without repeating the abstract
-
Provide implications and suggestions for future research
-
Be written in paragraph form without numbering
9. References

Must be generated automatically using Mendeley.

Follow Chicago Manual of Style (17th ed., Fullnote).

Must include valid DOI links or stable URLs.

Laws and regulations must include:

Requirements:

80% must be journal articles published within the last five years

Books, theses, statutes, websites, and dissertations may also be included

References must appear in both the bibliography and footnotes
10. Declaration of Conflicting Interests
Authors must include the statement:
“The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest regarding the publication of this article.”

Provide a brief biography (maximum 150 words per author) including:

12. Additional Notes

Articles must not include page numbers.

Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the IJLSS OJS system.

No submission fees are charged.

Fees apply only for printed copies, if requested.

All intellectual property matters (quotations, images, data, software) are the sole responsibility of the author.
